Never cut any corners people. The case surrounding the Kansas sperm donor William Marotta has escalated into a legal battle over child support with the recipient parents. In 2009, Marotta saw an intriguing ad on Craiglist to donate sperm to a lesbian couple. Because their agreement was not contractually bound, he became liable as genetic parent to remit childsupport once the recipient couple spilt ways. The court documents show that the lesbian couple performed the artificial insemination procedure at home, and according to Kansas law, a licensed physician must be involved in an artificial insemination process. Marotta failing to conform to the laws, and not seeking proper (or any) legal counsil at the time of the donation ended up costing him big.
